Golfing “Fore” Good Causes – Ironbridge to Host Three Benefit Days this Summer
YouthZone, Valley View Foundation, and Colorado Mountain College to Benefit from charitable days
Summer is here and golfers throughout the Valley are itching to get out and enjoy a round or two! Knowing that local golfers are incredible supporters of non-profit organizations throughout the community, Ironbridge is launching a new charitable program this summer to raise funds for three area non-profits: YouthZone, Valley View Foundation, and Colorado Mountain College Foundation.
Ironbridge will host a “Charitable Day” for each of the above organizations: YouthZone on Friday, June 23; Valley View Foundation on Friday, July 14; and Colorado Mountain College Foundation on Friday, August 11. For each of the charity days, Ironbridge will donate $50 from every regular-priced green fee ($129) that day to the charity. Golfers simply need to call Ironbridge for a tee time at 970-384-0630.
“We are often approached by local non-profits who are considering doing some type of golf event as a fundraiser,” said Stephanie Keister, Ironbridge Director of Marketing. “We love hosting golf tournaments for charitable events. However, tournaments can be a lot of work for non-profits who don’t have a large staff that can help organize the event. We wanted to come up with a way to help local non-profits raise money that wouldn’t be too stressful for their staff and volunteers.”
For non-golfers who want to support one (or all) of the non-profits, there will be opportunities to make donations on the Charitable Days while dining at the Ironbridge Grill, which is open to the public daily for lunch and for dinner Tuesdays through Saturday evenings. In addition, area businesses are welcome to sponsor holes on the days of the charitable days for $500 per hole, per day or for $1,000 per hole for all three charitable days. Businesses interested in sponsoring a hole may contact Stephanie Keister at 970-384-3987 or via email at skeister@ironbridgeclub.com

Valley View Foundation – Valley View Foundation’s mission it to accelerate excellence in healthcare at Valley View Hospital through philanthropy. Proceeds from the charitable day of golf at Ironbridge will go towards the Health4Life program, which is a patient-centered initiative to support lifestyle changes for better health. It provides personalized strategies to regain, maintain or improve quality of life. Referred by physicians and supervised by clinicians, patients will turn new, healthy behaviors into lifelong habits through education, exercise, nutrition and support over a period of 3-12 months. The habits learned will then be used for a lifetime. It applies directly to patients at risk for, or recovering from: Heart attack, heart procedures, COPD, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and high cholesterol.
Health4Life provides, in the words of Valley View staff, “professional help to get healthy.” The Valley View Foundation is seeking financial support to 1) fund the start-up costs of the program, including capital expenses such as exercise equipment, and 2) underwrite the cost of the program to make it affordable to patients.
Colorado Mountain College Foundation – Radio CMC – Colorado Mountain College Foundation develops and stewards constituent support for the benefit of students, faculty, facilities, academic programs and cultural enrichment assisting Colorado Mountain College to become first choice in leadership, learning and partnerships.
